American households plan to spend about $751.3 million on gifts for their four-legged companions come Valentine’s Day, according to an online survey commissioned by New York-based Finder and conducted by Pureprofile. This is a 16 percent increase of $103.4 million from last year.
About 27.6 million American households will shower their dogs with gifts, representing roughly 11 percent of all households, while 17.1 million households, or about 6.7 percent of Americans, will pick up presents for their feline friends, according to the survey.
